Horse Racing Track

Since 1891 there has been horse races on Charlottenlund Travbane. The racing track is the oldest in the Scandinavia.

A green spot in the Northern part of Copenhagen. Take your family to the races at Charlottenlund Racetrack. See the horses performances and bet if you feel for this. There' s a great restaurant, bars, grill etc.

The old stable buildings in wood are registered as buildings that must preserved. The track is located close to the sea a forest and a royal castle.

There are 470 stables with the most beautiful horses you can pat.

At the stable site, there is a small restaurant build into a old stable, visit it, and enjoy a danish open sandwich

You have to check the homepage to see when there will be a race, as there are only races around two to three times a month.

How to get there?

There a many options to get to the Horse track.

You can take the bus 1A towards Klampenborg, runs every 20 minute, and walk 5 minutes, or take the S-train to Charlottenlund a have a nice 15 minutes walk through the forest.


Or, do as the Danes bike. Only 30 minutes from the city Centre.

If you bike, you will pass through Hellerup, one of the wealthy areas in Copenhagen.



Take the S-train to Charlottenlund

or bus 1A to Traverbanevej. It takes 20 minutes




Do as the Danes, bike to the Horse Track.

It's a 10 km biketrip from the City Center, and if you are tired, take the train home with your bike
